VILLA SUNSET

Hidden away down a quiet side street, very close to the Tourism Centre on White Beach, Boracay, is a peaceful haven called ‘Villa Sunset’.

Very friendly staff cater to guests from 8 rooms only, surrounding a clean fresh water swimming pool. The rooms have recently undergone a complete transformation into expensively fitted tranquillity. It’s true, there is no noise from the other rooms and even when there are a few noisy drinkers at the bar, the sound filters softly through the solid concrete walls, I’m a light sleeper and I slept very well in this resort.

The bathrooms are spotless (very unusual in this country) and have glass surround showers and wonderful mixing taps with high pressure water at any temperature you like. There are two rooms, a lounge and the bedroom with TV’s in both if you feel like watching anything instead of enjoying the beach/bars/activities. It’s a very private place, not too cheap but well worth the effort and expense, to get away from the inferior quality which is found right on the beach for much more money!!

Adam Rozak, the manager, was so welcoming on our arrival, arranging pedi cabs and porters to transport all the rubbish (fuel/water containers/luggage/people) that we cart around on these trips.

Ever helpful, he even arranged a sightseeing tour with Boracay Helicopters for us, which worked out really well, since we could take aerial shots of almost all the yachts involved in the Manila-Boracay Regatta, which we helped as safety/photography boat, see Photo Album.

Adam, we all wish you well and hope you return from Germany after your recent diagnosis, refreshed and recovered, ready to enjoy family life again, taking care of your guests and photographing places and people so well.

Good luck mate……..
