KUAN BA RESORT MALAPASCUA Otherwise, formerly known as Wobbly Boot, we were welcomed by a character with a most excellent name- Johnnie Walker. We were tired, had engine problems, had a VERY rough ride escaping the clutches of Boracay’s strong rip currents with steep, dangerous waves and were very happy to limp into malapascua, just North East of Cebu Island, late one evening. Thresher Divers were very helpful picking us up from the boat and helping us with our baggage to the Kuan Ba, about 100 metres off the beach. It’s a shame we were a day late, as diving with this company was on our plan, thanks to you for your help anyway - we’ll be back… Johnnie got us rooms and drinks, and we jumped into the pool for a bit of après burn relief, before checking out a bar on the beach ( this is a VERY sleepy island, but relaxing) Back to Kuan Ba for a great dinner of perfect English sausages for Mike, a huge curry for Sean, and what the girls had, I couldn’t see over the mountain of food!!!!! Sorry we missed Johnnie and the girls in the morning, but your hospitality was much appreciated.. Thanks also to Geoff Hall and his lovely daughter Aimee for their help during our hours of distress on the way to the resort and for our stay there. This island is just starting up, basic/clean and simple and is a magnet for divers into thresher sharks and loads of other protected marine life – the hook up between Kuan Ba and Thresher Divers is a great match and works well www.malapascua-island-resort.com
