CEBU YACHT CLUB PARADISE What a great place this is, no hassles, friendly staff, and good prices, a good way to spend the day in the bar watching the doctors work on the engines. We are even allowed to wear flip flops!!! Emilio Osmena is a very helpful boss of the club, and Steve, the restaurant owner has been most hospitable. |

At the moment, Fin, a serious Scandinavian with two very large work boats, immaculately maintained, in Cebu Yacht Club has his team of guys stripping, flushing, cleaning etc etc, all the fuel tanks, lines, returns and filters – he’s convinced we only have to worry about fuel, and it’s VERY dirty, despite all our preventative measures to avoid this problem. On sea test will be carried out in 30 minutes, let’s see what happens……… |

Sea test went well, up to 30 knots in choppy water and she would have gone the whole way if it had been calmer. Injectors all coming off for a clean and spray check and all should be well tomorrow for re-fuelling direct from Shell. Hydraulic steering fixed, fan being installed to Furuno radar display case, boat clean and everything ship shape, we hope… |

Amazing what a serious, capable Norwegian can do, in two days, when the main agents seem to have “overseen” many of our problems over the last year every time they try and fix something. Even the electrical connections have been tightened up (they were all loose!!) by Fin, and now the gauges also work, nice to know what’s happening with the engines… Fingers crossed for one more sea test on Wednesday, time for another beer! |
